Dancers are grouped by grade level:
Camp instruction is led by experienced high school Teaching Assistants who support regular-year classes and have been part of the DancEsteem program for many years. They are supported by younger teen TAs (7th grade and up, with at least three years in the program).
Camps are overseen by Takami, along with two counselors over the age of 18.
Campers explore four dance disciplines: Ballet, Modern, Pop, and Creative Dance. Each week concludes with a fun Friday mini-showcase. The emphasis is on learning new skills, working cooperatively, building confidence and leadership, and—most importantly—having fun. Campers spend most of the day dancing.
